Beginning Portuguese Knitting with Teri Zipf

Read Teri Zipf's bio here!

The style of knitting that's come to be known in the United States as Portuguese is in fact practiced in some areas of South America, Turkey, Greece, and other countries the world over. It's easy to learn, fast, and even tension is easily maintained. It is often more comfortable than other styles of knitting because there are fewer and smaller arm, hand, and finger movements.

People with arthritis, tendonitis, or other mobility issues may find they are able to knit longer and with less discomfort. In this class you will learn to knit, purl, increase, and decrease. You'll also be provided with resources that will help you learn more and gain more confidence when you are home. We'll be knitting a simple pattern for a baby headband to practice your skills.
