Beginning Rigid Heddle Weaving with Linda Gettmann

Learn a new way to use all those wonderful yarns weaving on a rigid heddle loom is easy, portable, fun, and provides hours of relaxing fiber art time. Let your creativity flow as you design and weave a scarf with worsted weight yarn. Unlimited yarn, color, and pattern variations are possible on this simple loom. No previous weaving experience is necessary; beginners have great success with this first project. Come to the Columbia Gorge Fiber Festival and get hooked on weaving.

In this all day class, students will learn about their looms, warp the project, and begin weaving it. Discussion about books, yarns, and weaving examples in the afternoon as well as a finishing the scarf demonstration.

Materials to bring:

*Note: There will not be time in class to assemble your Rigid Heddle Loom. Please come to class with it already assembled!

Skill level: Novice - No experience necessary.
