Since Clear Creek has amazing access to the out of doors, I thought it would be fun to teach a new twist on tapestry weaving. This class will be taught outside, where we will gather bits of nature and incorporate them into our tapestry. The sample where I gathered a few flowers and grass looks and smells amazing. I can’t wait to share it in class! No experience required.

I will demo 3 different direct application techniques, including planned pooling, speckle, and tonal (where we build layers of color). Each person will receive 2 skeins of American grown and processed Superwash Shaniko Wool Fingering Yarn to dye using one of the three techniques I will teach. Additional yarn will be available for purchase.

I’m going to be hosting a Mystery Dye Day out at Clear Creek Farm on Saturday, August 16th from 10am - 4pm. A local friend of mine donated a bunch of dye supplies to the farm that I’m not familiar with. Not to worry, they came with instructions! We are going to experiment with those dyes and see what happens. $10 and you can dye as much as you want as long as we have dyes. We will also have yarn on hand for purchase. Come out and join in on the fun!
